Orbit Chimes – Gamma C^-C7
Traditional bar chimes have been used as single energy chimes since years in the sound healing field due to the possibility of precision tunings and clear frequency transmission. These small – pocket- instruments reach the highest possible tones up to the 8. Octave and enhance the ORBITS array with high, almost piercing sounds, penetrating the space with sharpening quality, invoking heightened awareness and a perception on the edge of the upper octaves of the planetary frequencies.
Sound Ships – Beta C5–C6
These are the smaller and higher octaves of the planetary frequencies. The Sound Ships can rock through cosmic oceans even while safely placed on your home table. Through a precise hit with the selected mallet on the outer edges they start to rock the specific vibrations into your near-field and call for a moment of alertness and attention. They can also be handheld and moved in the auric field and wider space around the receiver to spread the signifying frequency in its etheric quality.
Sound Ships – Friction (Crystal Glass)
This specialized version of the sound ship intrigues through the very resonant crystal glass material which wants to be played through friction, a light stroking motion with water wetted fingers. It surprises with a veritable magic appearance of the sound in a pure sine wave, as if directly emerging out of space or from the depths of matter, creating the most pointed and direct wave of the Orbits instruments.
Sound Bridges – Mid Octave (Alpha)
The Sound Bridges span their vibrations into the mid-range of the planetary frequencies. Played with a gentle hit from the side the swinging motion, suspended under the supporting arches, create a subtle ‘doppler effect’, spreading their precisely tuned vibrations into your environment, inviting a more relaxed perception of the specific planetary qualities.
Sound Elliptics – Deep Octave (Theta)
These are veritable tuning rods for your living and creative spaces and can effectively spread their qualitative frequencies and value associations through its wider field, initiating and inviting a more contemplative and restful perception. The most effective way of playing them is to give the tube a spin and then strike it gently with the mallet. The rotating motion is enhanced through the elliptic top piece, creating an interesting wobble in movement and sound. They are ideal sonic portals opening and shifting the atmosphere from a common superficial mode into an extending awareness and deepening experience of the moment and its natural gift of conscious self and space.
Planetary Plate Bells – Harmonic Core
Having worked with precision tuning of the Plate Bells over many years, we can now offer these strongly resonant sound sources in these specially calculated frequencies in standard 2 octaves (C3-C5), and the bass range (C2-B2) on special order.
While Planetary Gongs, through their build and shape, often disperse the actual tonal character of the specified frequency, the Planetary Plate Bells bring the fundamental and its tuned harmonics into the foreground, emphasizing on its actual quality and vibration. They are therefore a perfect match to the work with tuned gongs, in helping to focalize the tonal energy of the fundamental vibration and resonate it into the far field.
Each of the crafted instruments is tuned in its fundamental to the specific, indicated planetary frequency, as well as to its second and fourth harmonic to give a clear ring and sustain of the desired, calculated archetypal vibration.
HAND-CRAFTED PROCESS
As an extra feature the bells can be hand-hammered, and embossed on customized request, to enhance the brilliance of its sound. The hammering condenses the material and somehow makes the bells more dynamic, rich in their spread and inherent movement of the harmonic spectrum, as if the sound has its own life, unfolds, moves, tells its story, reveals the frequency’s meaning.
Planetary Scales – Swinging Chimes
While the work with the Cosmic Octave is commonly limited to the use of single frequencies and if, so, their relations, e.g. Earth Circumlation – Moon or Mars – Venus, the calculated frequencies can also be used as fundamentals for musical scales, for example building a simple diatonic scale on the base of the Jupiter frequency.
SVARAM, through its explorations of many years of scales from around the world and specifically of the Indian Raga system, has on invitation of Jens Zygar who performs internationally with his Star Sounds Orchestra, now created some carefully selected scales in the form of its popular Swinging Chimes. These planetary scales, tuned on the specific fundamental in just intonation, pure harmonic proportions and intervals, can bring the quality of the planetary frequencies into an unfolding melodic play, enhancing the symbolic imagery and experience of the planetary character. The correspondence of these scales has been intuited and incorporates the knowledge of specific ragas and their traditional associations to the cycles of time and astrology.

While in this recently launched ORBITS series we are limiting our standard selection to the frequencies of the visible planet of the ancient and symbolic systems, Plate Bells with the tuned frequencies of the later discovered planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto and other tonal vibrations of the ”Cosmic Octave” (eg. the Platonic Year, Sun, Sedna…) can be crafted on special request.
